Individual therapy focuses on supporting the mental health or growth of an individual. In the personalized modality, therapists focus on the ways in which targeted changes in an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which can lead to positive, lasting growth. Specific treatment goals, "homework" between sessions, and a collaborative, active therapeutic relationship are all hallmarks of therapy.
We offer individual therapy both in-person and via teletherapy. Teletherapy refers to individual, couples or family therapy delivered remotely via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video chat platform. Teletherapy sessions may be offered in lieu of in-person sessions for clients who need to be seen remotely for reasons related to health, access, or convenience.
Providers in our practice can offer teletherapy to all clients based in IL, CO, or in states in which our providers have additional licensure.

Family Therapy includes multiple members of the same family in each session whicf ocuses on the ways in which the "family system" can make changes to better support the functioning of all members of the family. Treatment focuses on developing a better understanding of the family's current dynamics, improving communication practices within the family, and making concrete changes to better support balance for each member of the family.

The length and frequency of sessions will be mutually decided between you and your provider, during or following the intake session(s). The initial 1-2 intake sessions typically last 45-60 minutes each. Thereafter, individual therapy sessions typically last approximately 45-60 minutes and clients usually meet with their provider on a weekly basis, at least at the outset of therapy. Once a client meets or mostly meets their initial therapy goals, session frequency may be adjusted to bi-monthly or monthly appointments, considered “treatment maintenance” sessions. Every session will be scheduled for hour increments. Based on a number of factors, some sessions can last less than the scheduled time.
