Phet C Coggin LCPC, LPC
Phet is a licensed therapist in both Illinois and Colorado. She meets with clients in person and online, offering telehealth exclusively to Colorado residents.
Phet takes a client-centered approach, meaning she focuses on what matters most to you and tailors each session to your specific needs. Her goal is to support your overall well-being by building a strong, trusting relationship, helping you understand what might be getting in the way of change, and teaching useful tools and strategies to help you move forward. She uses techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which are methods that focus on how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected.
Phet is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), both of which are well-established treatments for trauma. CPT helps people identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts related to their trauma, while EMDR uses guided eye movements or other techniques to help the brain process and release distressing memories. Phet works with individuals who have experienced post-traumatic stress (PTSD), especially those affected by narcissistic abuse and emotional, physical, or sexual trauma.
In addition, Phet is certified as a Transgender Care Specialist. She supports individuals, families, and medical providers throughout the gender transition process. This includes working with clients who are exploring their gender identity, seeking letters for hormone therapy or gender-affirming surgery, and those considering or navigating detransition. Phet offers a safe, affirming space where each person’s journey is honored and supported.
